Euro Cup 2016, 20 June 2016
France

Russia will face Wales and Slovakia will play against England in the final game Group B.
It will be interesting because every team has a chance of qualifying to the knockout stage. England and Wales are current favorites to go through.

France and Switzerland are already through from Group A. Albania beat Romania to clinch 3rd place so Romania are out of Euro Cup 2016.

Dirk Kuyt : My teammates are laughing stock.

Former Liverpool winger Dirk Kuyt was frustated as a captain in his current club of Rotterdam - Feyenoord after their 7th successive defeat. It prompted him to say that his current teammates are not giving 100% in the pitch and are to blame for the recent form. He is known for his hardwork and determination in Liverpool, Anfield.

A week after Pep Guardiola hijacked the January transfer deadline day with Manchester City takeover news, Mourinho's representatives have started negotiations to appoint Mourinho as Manchester United. This implies the former Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan and Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho's rivalry with Pep Guardiola will take center stage at Manchester from next season. Former Ajax, Barcelona, Bayern Munich manager Louis Van Gaal is counting his days to retirement as his finale stint at Man Utd didnt go well with fans. Even though Top 4 is still feasible for Man Utd, fans loathe the lack of pace, attack and charisma in their style of play - a very high standard set by former long term manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

The current but outgoing Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini is being touted to take over at Chelsea, London from another Dutch Manager Guus Hiddink

With the charismatic German Jurgen Klopp trying hard to turn Liverpool's fortunes around, next season will have plenty of drama to look forward in already the most anticipated league in football - English Premier League. After the failed bid of Brazilian attacking midfielder Alex Teixeira, who has since joined Chinese club Jiangsu Suning, it looks like Klopp should try harder to attract players to Liverpool.

The well-known Manchester United defender Gary Neville is going through his first managerial experience and it is NOT going so well. After hanging his boots, he was doing the punditry with SkySports, commenting on managers, players, games, strategies etc. He is remembered for his staunch remarks when a team had a bad day or so. When he was covering for a match involving a thrashing of a team in the hands of might Barcelona, he had said -
"You see teams go to the Nou Camp and get beat 5, 6, 7 - 0. Barca are a good side. But if I was involved with a team who got beat 7 - 0 there I wouldn't be able to look my family in the eyes anymore."

Well the 7-0 happened at Camp Nou yeseterday, nothing new for the Spanish giants considering the firepower of Messi, Suarez and Neymar aka MSN. It involved a Messi hattrick and Suarez hattrick + 1, so they could each take a matchball home.

Barcelona are waiting for their Round of 16 game with Arsenal in 3 weeks time (Tuesday 23 February), the first leg will be played at the Emirates Stadium, London. In recent weeks, the dent in Arsenal's form including Ozil, Sanchez might worry Arsene Wenger a bit. But when a Champions League theme plays in a stadium, all the history and record just fade, its the magic of the moment that decides a game.

Getting back to Barcelona 7 - 0 Valencia result yesterday, I wonder how Gary is coping in the backroom and training today, because as we know his family (younger brother - Phil Neville) is his assistant coach. Imagine how the eye-avoiding training session would be - awkard right ? ;)

Chelsea defeated Benfica by 2-1 (agg. 3-1) at home to secure their place in the semi finals of the Champions League 2012. Lampard scored from spot kick in early half. And a red card for Benfica's Maxi Periera in 40th minute made it worse for them. However, they lived their hopes until the last minute by returning 1 goal from corner kick. But it all ended with Raul Meireles's spectacular counter attack goal.

Meanwhile Real Madrid beat Apeol FC 5 - 2 at home. Christiano Ronaldo scored 2 goals alongside Kaka, Angel Di Maria and Callejon were all on scoresheet.

Barcelona beat AC Milan and Bayern Munich beat French side Marseille in Tuesday's action.

Lionel Messi was Barcelona's hero yet again as his two first-half penalties sealed a Champions League quarter-final win over AC Milan.

He became the youngest player to score 50 Champions League goals with his first spot-kick, before notching up the most goals in a single campaign as his second of the night - and 14th in total this season - put Barca back ahead.

Lionel Messi has now scored 51 goals in the Champions League. Only Ruud van Nistelrooy (56) and Raul (71) have more

Preamble:
There now follows a new challenge for the greatest team in history. Never before has this Barcelona side gone into a second leg having been held 0-0 in the away leg; therefore never before have they had to play with the trepidation of knowing that the concession of an away goal will double the difficulty of their task. Then again, do this Barcelona team know the meaning of the word trepidation? Such is their well-founded belief in their own means and method that it is difficult to imagine the fear of failure gaining any influence over them. Much has been made of the fact that Inter qualified two seasons ago after mounting a heroic defensive display in the Nou Camp – but what is often overlooked is that Inter actually lost that match and only went through because they had won the home leg 3-1 (playing vibrant attacking football). Milan may have shut Barça out at home but it is difficult to foresee that happening again, partially because tonight's game is not being played on a the moon-like surface of the San Siro and partially because the odds of Barça missing as many chances again are longer than Zlatan Ibrahimovich's list. So I'm saying Barça 3-1 Milan.
